Expert Top Pick of the Day: Los Angeles Lakers vs Boston Celtics

Expert Top Pick of the Day: Los Angeles Lakers vs Boston Celtics

The Lakers are going to make a trip to the city of Boston to play once again one of the most iconic games in the league when they meet the Celtics at their own court, this time to make the comeback that they need to shake off a two-game losing streak that has been weighing heavy on them.

The Celtics, coming off a loss as well, have been affected by the injury of one of their biggest talents. SG Jaylen Brown, who was averaging 25.6 points per game, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists before this situation, is questionable for the game.

The Celtics have not been the only team in this matchup that has been affected by these issues; the Lakers also are losing their main figure, SF Lebron James, due to an abdomen injury that makes a significant impact as well.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Boston Celtics Schedule

  • Date: Friday, November 19
  • Time: 7:30 PM ET
  • Location: TD Garden, Boston, MA

Los Angeles Lakers Half-Complete

At the beginning of the season, the Lakers were considered one of the favorite contenders at the title. They announced some of the biggest reinforcements that generated a lot of expectations throughout the league but so far have not been able to demonstrate it.

Placing fourth, right above the Sacramento Kings, it is unusual to see the Lakers below average in the standings in the very full Pacific Division that has some of the most competitive teams in it.

A very unexpected series of events has happened in the Lakers games recently, as they still have not figured out how to put things together with their roster, despite fielding superstar players like PF Anthony Davis and PG Russell Westbrook.

Boston Celtics Bounceback

It has been a very tough season so far for the Celtics, and their record shows it. With a 7-8 mark, they are very far from the top spot. They desperately need to get the comeback that can prove them to be worthy of a better standing in the Atlantic Division.

The Celtics are currently led by SF Jayson Tatum, who is averaging 24.2 points per game, along with C Robert Williams III, with 9.2 rebounds, and PG Marcus Smart with 5.1 assists.

They have been regular in the stats, but this has not been a reflection of their performance. With the absence of Brown, it is still uncertain when he will be able to come back to the court, and at least for this next game, he remains questionable.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Boston Celtics Odds Comparison

The Lakers are down in the records against the Celtics in their last five games. They have a record of 0-5 when playing against the spread, which doesn’t hold much strength for this upcoming game, either.

In their last five games overall, they have been very competitive when playing each other, but the Celtics have gotten the best out of five with three wins on their side.

The total has also gone over six times out of the last seven games when the Celtics are playing the Lakers, which may indicate a high-scoring game.

  • DraftKings: Celtics to win at -105 on a spread of -1, and the game total is 213.
  • FanDuel: Celtics to win at -126 on a spread of -2, and the game total is 213.
  • BetMGM: Celtics to win at -128 on a spread of -2.5, and the game total is 213.5.

Godds Pick or Prediction of the Game

The Lakers will pull off this win against the Celtics on the road. Even though they lost in their last game against the defending champ, the Milwaukee Bucks, they went toe to toe in a tough basketball game that was finally won by their opponent.

However, the Lakers showed a lot of personality and will surely look forward to doing the same against a very different team in the Celtics, who are having a lot of struggles throughout the entire season.

  • Godds Pick/Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers to win the game, and the total goes over.
