The Utah Jazz go back on the road to face the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. The battle for playoff position continues in this Western Conference matchup. Utah Jazz vs. Golden State Warriors Betting Picks.
The Jazz travel to San Francisco tonight to face Golden State and hopefully end their five-game road losing streak. After their recent losing streak, they still are tied with the Nuggets for first place in the Northwest Division standings. They are also three games ahead of Minnesota for sixth place in the conference, with only five games remaining on the schedule.
The Warriors are second in the Pacific Division and are 14 games behind the Phoenix Suns. They have secured a playoff position and are currently third in the conference standings behind the Memphis Grizzlies. The only thing left to be decided is what playoff position they will hold once the regular season comes to an end.
The Jazz have had a tough time recently performing on the road. They returned home Wednesday night after losing five straight road games to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 122-109 but now return to the road, where they’ve been having major struggles. They have lost eight of their last ten road games overall.
Donovan Mitchell had 29 points, and Rudy Gobert added 25 points and 17 rebounds in the win vs. the Lakers. Mitchell leads Utah with 26.1 points, 5.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Rudy Gobert is the league’s leading rebounder with 14.6 per game and adds 2.1 blocked shots per contest for the Jazz.
The big story for the Warriors is the loss of Stephen Curry for the remaining five games of the regular season. He is to be evaluated in a week after spraining his foot a couple of weeks ago. Curry is confident he’ll return for the playoffs as the Warriors hope he’ll be available for their first playoff series.
Golden State has also lost seven of their last eight games, with Jordan Poole helping to pick up the slack on offense, averaging 28.6 points per game in the last five contests. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been enough to help the Warriors win games. Curry was leading the team in scoring with 25.5 points per game and assists, with 6.3 per matchup.
For the Jazz, the total has gone under in 11 eleven of their last 16 games, and they are 0-5 against the spread in their last five road games.
The Warriors are 2-6 against the spread in their previous eight games, and the total has gone under in six of their last seven games at home.
Both teams featured in this matchup have been struggling to get wins lately. Utah is the healthier of the two teams right now and should be able to pick up their first win on the road in the last six games tonight against Golden State.
