Alabama Crimson Tide vs LSU Tigers

Expert Top Pick of the Day: Alabama Crimson Tide vs. LSU Tigers

The Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers meet for a crucial SEC showdown tonight. The winner will move into first place in the SEC West standings.

Sixth-ranked Alabama brings a 7-1 record to Tiger Stadium tonight to take on 15th-ranked LSU.

The Crimson Tide are still hoping to secure one of the four playoff spots despite losing to top-ranked Tennessee. Alabama recovered from its defeat to the Vols with a 30-6 win over 24th-ranked Mississippi State last weekend.

LSU is back to playing great football after their loss to Tennessee 40-13 at home three weeks ago. They responded with a ten-point win over Florida on the road and a 45-20 victory over the seventh-ranked Ole Miss Rebels.

The 7-2 Tigers won’t have a chance to make the playoffs this season but can still secure a major bowl game berth if they can finish strong the rest of the way.

Tide Need A Victory To Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

Alabama will have a challenge when they visit one of the toughest fields to play in NCAA football on Saturday night at Tiger Stadium. A win would put them in control at the top of the SEC West and a guaranteed berth in the SEC Championship game.

It would also keep them in contention for one of the four playoff spots and on the path to a National Championship.

Alabama has the third-ranked scoring offense in the country, led by QB Bryce Young. The junior has thrown for 1,906 yards and 18 touchdowns with three interceptions on the season.

Also, his 89.6 QBR is seventh in the country. Jahmyr Gibbs is the Tide’s leading rusher with 672 yards and six touchdowns, and Ja’Corey Brooks is Young’s favorite target through the air with 12 receptions for 376 yards and four touchdowns.

Tigers Look For Third Straight Win

LSU has played its best football of the season since its loss to Tennessee. Against Ole Miss, QB Jayden Daniels had probably his best game of the season, going 21-28 for 248 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 23 times for 137 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

LSU totaled 500 yards for the game and was 6 for 11 on third down. They also held the powerful Rebels offense to just 20 points, their lowest output of the season.

Daniels leads the LSU offense with 1,812 yards and 12 touchdowns and has thrown just one interception this season. He’s also the Tigers’ leading rusher with 524 yards on 113 carries and nine touchdowns. Malik Nabers is the top receiver for LSU, with 36 receptions for 455 yards and one touchdown.

Godds Pick or Prediction of the Game

The Tigers will need their best effort of the season if they hope to win this matchup. The result of this game will come down to the arm and legs of Daniels and whether or not he can make plays against Alabama’s solid defense.

The Tide’s only weaknesses are that they’ve had problems with penalties and turnovers this season. They’ve hopefully had time to address that during their bye last week.

  • Godds Pick/Prediction: Alabama wins, and the total goes over.
