After a solid win over the Iowa State Cyclones, the Jayhawks are now atop the conference standings. Baylor might come as no easy challenge, but the Jayhawks could be in the ideal position to make the most of their recent climb to the number one seed of the Big 12.

Cryer’s Bears to Pursue the Top

It might sound as if Baylor has a long climb up. Yet, the truth is that the Bears are just a step away from Kansas. Baylor is now marching with a solid 19-3 season record and looking to reclaim the number one position over Kansas.

J Cryer leads the Bears with 13.9 points per game. James Akinjo has also been able to add 5.6 assists and 2.2 steals per matchup. Although a couple of men stand out, Baylor’s overall team stats look even.

As for the team, the Bears are thirty-second in the NCAA with 78.8 points per game and thirteenth with 17.2 assists per matchup. Still, as the number eight overall pick of the Associated Press and the coaches poll, Baylor is set to take on Kansas this afternoon.

Agjabi’s Jayhawks to Remain as Top Seed

Kansas has gone a long way to now stand as the top seed of the Big 12. As in the case of Baylor, the Jayhawks recovered from a loss over the Kentucky Wildcats with a solid win against the Iowa State Cyclones last Tuesday.

With an 18-3 season record, the Jayhawks are looking strong. Guard Ochai Agjabi still leads Kansas with 20.9 points per game. Dajuan Harriss Jr. has also contributed to the team with 3.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

Overall, Kansas is twenty-first in the country with 80 points per game and thirty-second with 16.3 assists. Still ranking as number 10 in the AP and coaches poll, Kansas truly has what it takes to stay ahead of the conference. But, perhaps, they are in the best position so far to keep fighting for a potential NCAA Championship title

Godds Pick or Prediction of the Game

Baylor would have easily topped Kansas in the odds and predictions throughout the season. However, the Jayhawks now have all numbers in their favor. Kansas’ 7-1 record in conference matchups also seems to be surpassing Baylor’s 7-2 conference record.

So, it’s now up to both squads to determine who will stand as the top seed of the Big 12 in what is expected to be one of the best games this weekend.
