Expert Top Pick of the Day: St. Louis Blues at Vancouver Canucks

Top Pick of the Day

The St. Louis Blues are still trying to make it to higher ground in the 2022-23 NHL season. The Blues are now in the fifth spot of the Central Division with an even 15-15-1 season record. However, there is no question the Blues still have enough time to deliver more solid performances throughout the current season.

The Blues are ready to head to Rogers Arena in British Columbia and face the Vancouver Canucks this Monday night. As for the Canucks, the story is quite similar. Vancouver is now sixth overall in the Pacific Division and still trying to reach higher. However, with home-ice advantage, the Canucks are now looking to straighten their path as they attempt to climb higher in the division standings.

Louis Blues vs. Vancouver Canucks Schedule

  • Date: Monday, December 19, 2022
  • Time: 05:30 PM PST
  • Location: Rogers Arena, Vancouver, BC

Kyrou’s Blues After Fourth Straight Win

The story might have been entirely different if it had not been for the Blues’ disastrous start to the current season.

The Blues opened the 2022-23 NHL season with five straight defeats. Yet, everything was corrected, which allowed St. Louis to nail seven consecutive wins to balance one of the worst seasons starts the team has had in many years.

The Blues went through another losing streak and are back on a roll with three straight wins. Jordan Kyrou is well aware of his role in the Blues’ offense. Kyrou now leads the team with 13 goals, 15 assists, and 28 points.

Pettersson’s Canucks Gradual Recovery

The Canucks have also been inconsistent, and the team is now attempting to recover more solid performances. They’re 3-2 in their last five games and are 1-2 in their previous three. Before that, the team had a series of winning streaks that have come and gone and hasn’t allowed the team to remain at the top of the division standings.

For the Canucks, the key has been to trust top talents such as Elias Pettersson, who is now leading Vancouver with 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points.

Louis Blues vs. Vancouver Canucks Odds Comparison

The Blues are ready to extend their winning streak against the Canucks tonight. St. Louis’s total has gone over in seven of their last nine games. As for Vancouver, the total has gone under in five of their previous six games.

St. Louis is 21-6 in their last 27 Pacific encounters, as well as 11-4 in games following a win. However, they haven’t been able to put the puck in the net as much this year, which is going to hurt them tonight.

  • DraftKings has the Canucks at -115, and the total is 6.5.
  • FanDuel has the Canucks at -115, and the total is 6.5.
  • Caesars has the Canucks at -115, and the total is 6.5.

Godds Pick or Prediction of the Game

The Blues are now 9-8-0 on the road. Over the past season, the Blues have become one of the top teams competing for NHL glory in the playoffs. Still, with a rough start, even the best teams and former Stanley Cup champs can be placed on the spot. The Blues will now attempt to strike the Canucks with solid road performances. As for Vancouver, the team is now marching with a 5-8-1 home record. However, it seems as if the odds are slightly tilted toward the Canucks and their chances of pulling a solid home win tonight.

  • Godds Pick/Prediction: The Canucks win, and the over hits.
