Expert Top Pick of the Day: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies

Expert Top Pick of the Day: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies

The Dodgers and Rockies prepare for Game 3 of their series at Coors Field in Denver. Los Angeles is still leading the NL West by 1.5 games over the San Diego Padres and looks to bounce back after losing the first two games against the last-place Rockies. Colorado is one game behind the Arizona Diamondbacks in the division standings.

Colorado has won their first series since sweeping the Padres last week and looks to take the final game to complete the sweep on Wednesday. They shut out the Dodgers in Game 1, and in last night’s contest, they continued their domination of Clayton Kershaw and beat Los Angeles for the second straight game 7-4. Colorado trails the Dodgers by 13 games in the standings.

Dodgers Hope To Avoid Sweep

Los Angeles has been barely holding on to the lead in the NL West and has been helped recently by the second-place Padres, who are on a three-game losing streak. The Dodgers had a chance to increase their lead in the standings but can’t figure out how to beat Colorado, who has now won four straight games against them.

Trea Turner is hitting .311 to lead all Dodgers hitters and leads the team in RBIs with 54, ranking him eighth in the Majors in that category. Mookie Betts is the home run leader for LA with 17.

Tony Gonsolin leads the Dodgers on the mound and is ranked first with a 9-3 record and a 1.58 ERA. Julio Urias is first on the team in strikeouts with 71 and will get the start tonight. He’s 5-6 with a 2.48 ERA on the season.

Rockies Seek To Climb Out Of Last Place

Colorado has occupied the bottom of the NL West for the entire first half of the season but is close to finally moving up and leaving last place to the Diamondbacks, who are just a game ahead. They also look to improve on the 21-19 record at home in tonight’s game. They wrapped up their second series win versus the Dodgers in last night’s game and are now 5-1 against them this season.

C.J. Cron is the offensive leader for the Rockies and has 17 home runs and 55 RBIs, which is seventh in the Majors. Jose Iglesias is hitting .297 to lead all Rockies at the plate. Chad Kuhl is the leading pitcher in wins with five and in ERA at 3.49.

German Marquez is the strikeout leader for Colorado with 68 and gets the start in tonight’s matchup. He’s 4-5 with a 5.58 ERA on the season.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies Odds Comparison

The Dodgers are 0-5 in their last five games against NL West opponents, and the total has gone under in four of their previous five games. The Rockies are 4-1 against LA in their last five games facing them at home, and the total has gone under in nine of their last 13 games against the Dodgers.

  • DraftKings has the Dodgers at -195, and the game total is 11.
  • FanDuel has the Dodgers at -194, and the game total is 11.
  • Caesars has the Dodgers at -190, and the game total is 11.

Godds Pick or Prediction of the Game

Los Angeles again has the pitching advantage tonight, just as they had in the first two games of this series, which both resulted in losses. However, tonight should be different for the Dodgers, who will be facing Marquez and his inflated ERA in the high altitude of Coors Field.

Godds Pick/Prediction: The Dodgers will win, and the total goes over.
