Reynaldo Lopez
RP
Lopez was placed on the 15-day injured list earlier in the day after he was scratched from his expected start Saturday due to left knee inflammation. The right-hander appears to have avoided significant damage, and manager Walt Weiss expects Lopez to be activated from the IL when first eligible Aug. 15.
Spencer Strider
SP
After landing on the shelf June 13 due to right elbow inflammation, Strider met with Dr. Keith Meister two days later and was prescribed a month of rest. Though he was expected to be re-evaluated over the All-Star break, Atlanta hasn't provided a formal update on Strider's next steps. Bowman notes that Strider had his locker cleaned out during Atlanta's most recent homestand, a sign that the club isn't counting on the right-hander's return over the final two months of the season. Strider labored through his eight starts with Atlanta prior to going on the injured list, walking 12.8 percent of the batters he faced while pitching to a 5.31 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 39 innings.
Spencer Schwellenbach
SP
The 26-year-old right-hander has been throwing bullpens, both at Atlanta's spring training complex in Florida and with the big-league club, for a few weeks now, and the team has been mostly pleased with the results. "He looked good," manager Walt Weiss said after Schwellenbach's most recent session Friday. "The ball is coming out good. I've gotten some good reports on him. He's adding to his workload right now. The next step is to face live hitters after throwing about three more bullpens. But he's moving in the right direction and he feels good." While his elbow has held up so far, his velocity isn't yet back at pre-surgery levels, although he has been topping 90 mph in recent outings. If he stays on track, Schwellenbach could begin a rehab assignment in mid-August, and pitching in the majors before the end of the season hasn't been ruled out.
Sean Murphy
C
The veteran catcher began a rehab assignment at Gwinnett on July 25, and Murphy was able to play a full seven innings of defense Wednesday in the first game of a doubleheader. Given how much time he's missed the season to various injuries, Atlanta isn't likely to rush Murphy back from the IL, but he looks like he's finally 100 percent healthy, maybe for the first time in 2026. With the trade deadline coming Monday, Atlanta might wait until the dust has settled on any roster moves before finding room on the 26-man roster for Murphy.
Ha-Seong Kim
SS
The veteran infielder began a rehab assignment July 13 in the Florida Complex League before getting bumped up to Gwinnett on July 18. Per Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Kim's 20-day rehab stint will end after Saturday's contest, forcing Atlanta to either activate him or find a way to move him to another organization -- something that could be difficult given the remaining money on his one-yea, $20 million contract, and his .068/.171/.068 slash line through 82 big-league plate appearances this season.
