Blake Snell

Per Chen, Snell completed an up-and-down live bullpen Saturday, marking the first time he's faced hitters since undergoing a NanoScope procedure on his left elbow in mid-May. That came after the veteran southpaw returned to throwing bullpens in late June, and to this point he's had no setbacks following the elbow surgery. Snell will probably need 4-to-5 rehab starts to build up to his target of five innings/75 pitches, so a return to the Dodgers' rotation isn't likely to come until at least early August.

Enrique Hernandez

1B

The Dodgers will open the second half with three consecutive road series before returning home July 28 for a three-game series against the Mariners, followed by another three-game set against Boston that runs through Aug. 2. Hernandez was cleared to begin taking live BP last weekend, and he will presumably head out on a minor-league rehab assignment after the break while the Dodgers are on the road.

Blake Treinen

RP

Treinen is working his way through a throwing program after landing on the injured list June 20 due to right elbow inflammation, but the Dodgers aren't counting on him to return until after the All-Star break. Once he's activated, Treinen will likely handle a middle-innings or setup role out of the Los Angeles bullpen.

Will Smith

C

Smith has been on the injured list since June 11 with neck inflammation and isn't expected to return before the All-Star break, but his return to hitting and throwing are both good signs that he's finally starting to turn a corner in his recovery. He will almost certainly require a minor-league rehab assignment before rejoining the active roster.

Edwin Diaz

RP

Diaz logged his first game action since undergoing surgery to remove loose bodies in his right elbow in late April. The veteran closer struck out the first two batters he faced before giving up a single, but that hitter was subsequently thrown out trying to steal a base. Diaz threw 11 pitches in the outing, and his fastball sat at 96-98 mph. He's expected to make his return to the Dodgers shortly after the All-Star break.
