Joe Ryan

SP

While it was another excellent outing overall from Ryan, he failed to make it through six innings for the first time in his last eight starts, after needing 97 pitches to make it through five frames Thursday. Overall, Ryan's ERA is down to 2.99 this season with a 1.00 WHIP and 99:18 K:BB across 16 starts (87.1 innings). He's currently lined up to face the Dodgers at home in his next outing.

Garrett Acton

RP

While the activity marks a step forward for Acton as he recovers from a right shoulder strain, Twins general manager Jeremy Zoll said Friday that the 28-year-old still has "a long road ahead of him" before returning from the 60-day injured list. Acton made four relief appearances for Minnesota and surrendered five runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out nine batters over 6.2 innings before landing on the IL on April 28.

Ryan Jeffers

C

In addition to swinging a bat, Jeffers has been able to do some throwing, running and catching drills since undergoing surgery May 20 to address a left hamate bone fracture. Over the next week or so, Jeffers is expected to gradually ramp up the intensity of his workouts, which will eventually include facing live pitching. He's without a definitive timeline to return from the 10-day injured list, but the expectation is that he'll be ready for activation at some point in July.

Bailey Ober

SP

It would be the first time he's thrown from the bump since he was diagnosed with a right flexor strain at the beginning of June. Ober has been shelved for less than three weeks, so it shouldn't take him too long to get built back up once he does resume throwing off the mound. He's collected a 4.59 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 46:18 K:BB over 66.2 innings this season.

Mick Abel

SP

Abel went in for an MRI that determined there was swelling in his right elbow after he suffered a setback in his recovery last Friday. However, the MRI did also confirm that there is no damage to the ligament. The 24-year-old has been on the injured list since April 20 and his return is still yet to be determined.
