Byron Buxton

Buxton immediately headed into the Twins' clubhouse after taking a 91.6-mph fastball off his forearm in the seventh inning and will likely undergo imaging to determine whether he suffered a fracture. James Outman entered the game to run for Buxton and would be the favorite to start in center field if the latter is forced to miss any amount of time.

Brooks Lee

3B

Lee started four of the first five games of the season but has now been on the bench for two in a row. The Twins will roll with Tristan Gray as their starting shortstop in Friday's home opener.

David Banuelos

C

Banuelos spent the majority of his 2025 campaign in the Orioles organization at Triple-A Norfolk, where he struggled to a .107 average with one home run, two RBI and four runs scored in 21 games. He'll likely serve as depth at Triple-A St. Paul as he returns to the organization where he played from 2018-2023.

Cory Lewis

SP

Lewis strained his right shoulder prior to reporting to spring training and only recently began playing catch, so he'll need more time to increase his throwing distance off flat ground before graduating to mound work. The 25-year-old was cut from big-league camp Thursday and will likely serve as a swingman at Triple-A St. Paul once he's fully healthy.

David Festa

Festa recently resumed a throwing program after being shut down in late February due to a right shoulder impingement. However it sounds like he'll need several weeks before he can begin a minor-league rehab assignment. Festa was already coming back from thoracic outlet syndrome, which he dealt with last September, so expect the Twins to be cautious with his return.
