The shortstop didn't sent the Florida State League ablaze, but his production was solidly above league average (109 wRC+, .228/.369/.370 slash line, eight home runs and 23 stolen bases in 348 plate appearances) and impressive for a 19-year-old. He's gotten off to a good start to his tenure at Jersey Shore, getting on base at a .389 clip while nabbing three stolen bases through his first eight games.

Kyle Backhus

RP

Wednesday was the first time Backhus played catch since going on the injured list April 30 due to left elbow inflammation. The southpaw will continue his throwing program, barring any setbacks, and he could be an option for the Phillies at some point in late May or early June. Through 9.2 innings before getting hurt, Backhus posted a 4.66 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 10:1 K:BB.

Johan Rojas

CF

Rojas had been limited to designated hitter duty after suffering a right shoulder injury during the Dominican Winter League, but he's been throwing without issue lately and is finally ready to play the field. The defensive ace is expected to operate as the Phillies' fourth outfielder this season.

Rene Pinto

C

Pinto has been sidelined since late May with an undisclosed injury, though he appears to be nearing a return. He may get a chance in the majors immediately, as Francisco Mejia (knee) exited Thursday's game against the Orioles and could be forced to miss time.
