Schwarber's back will keep him on the bench to begin Tuesday's contest, and it remains unknown whether he'll have to miss additional games as well. Edmundo Sosa will fill in as the Phillies' designated hitter and bat eighth.

Johan Rojas

Rojas remains on the restricted list while he serves an 80-game suspension stemming from a positive test for performance-enhancing drugs, but once the ban is lifted Thursday, he's expected to revert to the Phillies' injured list. The 25-year-old outfielder sustained the elbow injury earlier this month while ramping up his baseball activities in anticipation of his return from suspension. The Phillies expect Rojas will be ready to go for the start of the 2026 season, though it's possible that he'll head into spring training under some restrictions with his hitting and throwing.

Adolis Garcia

RF

Garcia suffered the injury last week while making a throw and was placed on the 60-day injured list. He is expected to require 6-to-8 months to recover, giving him enough time to be ready for the start of the 2027 season if all goes well. Garcia finishes the season with a .195/.270/.329 batting line and seven home runs over 67 contests for the Phillies. The 33-year-old will become a free agent after the season.

Liover Peguero

SS

Peguero is expected to open the season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley after falling short in his bid for a utility spot on the Phillies' Opening Day roster. The 25-year-old went just 6-for-42 (.143 average) over 17 Grapefruit League games.
