Edwin Uceta

Uceta has been shut down since he suffered a setback in late May during his recovery from a right shoulder strain, but there is now a clear end in sight to his no-throw period. An updated timeline for his return from the injured list may come after he gets through a few rounds of catch.

Manuel Rodriguez

RP

Rodriguez has been on the shelf all season while on the mend from an elbow procedure he underwent last August. He was cleared to begin throwing off a mound in May, and the Rays will seemingly have him throw a few more bullpen sessions before clearing him to begin facing hitters at the end of the month. A timeline for his return to the bullpen remains unknown, though he will almost certainly require several tune-up appearances in the minors before coming off the IL.

Gavin Lux

LF

Lux has been on the injured list all season due to shoulder and ankle issues, though he was cleared to resume taking live batting practice last week. Manager Kevin Cash said Friday that the 28-year-old's shoulder is feeling better now that he's a month removed from suffering a setback during a rehab game, but the Rays will continue to bring him back slowly and wait until the end of the month before returning him to minor-league action. More information about the duration of Lux's upcoming rehab assignment may come once he begins playing in games.

Jonathan Heasley

RP

Heasley was outrighted to Triple-A Durham on Saturday, but because he suffered his injury during his time with the Rays, he'll be placed on the Rays' 15-day injured list and also reclaim a spot on the 40-man roster. The 29-year-old righty gave up five earned runs in four innings during his lone outing with Tampa and will likely be outrighted to Triple-A again once he's healthy.

Steven Wilson

RP

Wilson is only playing catch at this point, but Tampa Bay is optimistic he'll be able to advance his throwing program early next month. The right-hander has been sidelined since the spring due to lumbar disk inflammation as well as an appendectomy. Last regular season, Wilson posted a 3.42 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 51:22 K:BB over 55.1 innings with the White Sox.
