Michael Soroka

Soroka is slated to throw 4-to-5 innings and/or 50-to-60 pitches in the outing. It will be his first time appearing in a game since he went down with a left glute strain in late June. The right-hander could be ready to rejoin the Diamondbacks' rotation after Tuesday's start, though the club might prefer Soroka to get stretched out further before reinstating him. He boasts a 3.07 ERA and 79:17 K:BB over 82 innings covering 15 starts for Arizona this season.

Zac Gallen

SP

Gallen received a second opinion from Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who granted the right-hander permission to begin throwing again. An estimated return for Gallen has yet to be determined.

Jordan Lawlar

LF

Lawlar's experienced improvement over the last week. He was not yet at full speed one week ago but is now on the precipice of participating in bridge games at the Diamondbacks' training facility in Arizona. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo confirmed Friday that the bridge game activity should occur in the coming days.

Drey Jameson

RP

The move corresponds with Kade Strowd being optioned to Reno following Friday's game against the Nationals. Jameson has spent the entire 2026 season in Triple-A, where he has a 7.33 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 23:12 K:BB across 23.1 innings. He appeared in three regular-season games for the Diamondbacks in 2025, when he allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks over three innings while logging one save.

Justin Martinez

RP

Martinez participated in a camp game Friday and reportedly hit 100-plus mph on his four-seamer. The recent upheaval in the Diamondbacks' bullpen -- Paul Sewald was removed as closer and the club is using a committee approach -- indicates Martinez could get back to being the team's closer. That may not happen in 2026, but Martinez should get an opportunity to show his stuff in September.
