Jordan Lawlar

Lawlar had to come out of Friday's game after legging out an infield single, and imaging later revealed that he had strained his hamstring. He'll now spend at least the next 10 days on the shelf, leaving Jorge Barrosa as the favorite to take over as Arizona's primary center fielder. Tim Tawa was recalled from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.

A.J. Puk

RP

Puk has yet to make his season debut for Arizona in 2026 and the wait will now be even longer after the club determined he will be shut down for another four weeks. Once the four weeks are up, the left-hander will undergo an MRI to see if his recovery has advanced at all.

Ryne Nelson

SP

Nelson held the Angels to two runs over seven innings in his last start Monday, but now he's sidelined indefinitely. There's been no timetable provided by the Diamondbacks yet, but the nature of the injury points to a lengthy absence for Nelson. Brandon Pfaadt is a likely candidate to replace Nelson in the Arizona rotation.

Juan Centeno

C

Centeno will provide the Diamondbacks with some backstop depth at the Triple-A level again in 2023. The 33-year-old slashed .305/.355/.512 with 15 homers over 91 games with Triple-A Reno and Double-A Amarillo in 2022.

Michael Soroka

SP

Soroka suffered the injury while warming up for the second inning of Friday's start against the Twins, putting a premature end to his evening. He'll now be forced to sit out through the beginning of July, though he may still be able to make a few more starts before the All-Star break, depending on how quickly he can recover. Philip Abner was recalled from Triple-A Reno to give Arizona extra bullpen depth while the team sorts out its rotation plans.
