Jacob Wilson

SS

Wilson is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 campaign, as he continues to deal with soreness in the left shoulder that he separated earlier in the season. Wilson wraps up his second MLB season having slashed just .266/.298/.388 with seven home runs, 37 RBI, 37 runs scored, four stolen bases and a 12:39 BB:K across 337 trips to the plate. The shoulder injury likely contributed to his OPS dipping from .800 last season to just .685 in 2026.

Tyler Soderstrom

LF

Soderstrom is scheduled to undergo hip surgery Friday that will cause him to miss the rest of the season, so the A's will move him to the 60-day IL to free up a 40-man roster spot for Johnathan Rodriguez, who was claimed off waivers from Pittsburgh.

Denzel Clarke

CF

Clarke began his rehab assignment for a left hamstring strain, going hitless at the plate while logging five innings defensively in center field. The Athletics plan to build up the 26-year-old on a spring training-like progression, per MLB.com, so he's likely to see extended reps in Triple-A before being activated from the 60-day injured list. Clarke has appeared in 22 big-league games this season, slashing .170/.228/.189 with no homers, six RBI, four runs and two stolen bases.

Joshua Kuroda-Grauer

3B

Kuroda-Grauer will be eased back into baseball-related workouts after he required surgery July 21 to address a ruptured testicle, an injury he suffered a day earlier when he fouled a ball off of himself. The Athletics aren't putting a timeline on Kuroda-Grauer's return from the injured list, but since he hasn't yet begun a hitting, running or fielding progression, he doesn't appear on track to make it back from the shelf before the end of August.

Nick Kurtz

Manager Mark Kotsay indicated Aug. 11 that Kurtz may be done for the season after receiving a PRP injection for his thumb strain, and the move to the 60-day IL guarantees the first baseman is done for 2026 since the A's are unofficially out of the playoff hunt, and he won't be eligible to be reinstated until after the end of the regular season. The 23-year-old was unable to fully replicate the 36 homers and 1.002 OPS he posted as a rookie last year, but he was still plenty productive in 2026 with 21 home runs, seven steals, 69 RBI, 62 runs and a .256/.396/.483 slash line in 99 games.
