Tanner Murray
2B
Murray was hit by a pitch in the second inning of Saturday's game and proceeded to steal second base before being removed from the contest. The good news for Murray is that X-rays came back negative, though the injury could limit his playing time over the next couple of days. Murray was acquired by the White Sox from the Rays in November after spending the entire 2025 season with Triple-A Durham, where he slashed .241/.299/.400 with five steals (in nine attempts), 18 home runs and 58 RBI in 572 plate appearances.
Drew Thorpe
SP
It was the first time Thorpe has thrown off the mound since he came down with tendinitis in his surgically repaired right elbow nearly a month ago. The right-hander is slated for another bullpen session as he continues to rebuild stamina. Thorpe has not pitched in a game since 2024, having missed all of the 2025 campaign following Tommy John surgery. He'll be assigned to the Triple-A Charlotte rotation once he's stretched out but is a candidate to rejoin the big-league rotation at some point in 2026 if things go well.
Wikelman Gonzalez
RP
Gonzalez took the mound in the top half of the seventh inning where he struck out his first batter, but then allowed a single and three consecutive walks. He departed the game after walking in a run on what would be his final batter. The White Sox labeled the righty as day-to-day after his exit.
Everson Pereira
CF
Pereira was examined by team doctors Wednesday and is still waiting for the results. Meanwhile, he has been limited to running and strengthening his oblique area. Pereira is in competition for reps in the White Sox' outfield and is still waiting to make his Cactus League debut.
Munetaka Murakami
3B
Third base was Murakami's primary position in Japan, but he's seen as a defensive liability there and is a better roster fit at first base for the White Sox, anyway. However, it's possible the 26-year-old sees enough action at the hot corner in order to retain eligibility at the position in fantasy for 2027. Miguel Vargas is slated to be the team's everyday third baseman.
