Prelander Berroa

After recovering from his March 7, 2025 Tommy John surgery, Berroa began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on May 13 but threw just four pitches in that appearance before being shut down due to right elbow inflammation. The 26-year-old has seemingly responded well to treating the injury with rest and rehab over the past two months and will soon begin ramping up his throwing. Berroa is unlikely to be an option for the White Sox bullpen until August.

Ky Bush

SP

Bush suffered a setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery in late May and had been ruled out until the second half of the season. It seems clear he won't return at any point in July, but he has at least resumed his rehab process.

Drew Thorpe

SP

Thorpe is recovering from Tommy John surgery, and that already lengthy process was slowed when he underwent an appendectomy in late May. There's no exact timeline for Thorpe's return, but he is expected to be activated sometime in 2026.

Everson Pereira

RF

Pereira has been sidelined for much of the last two months with a combination of a pectoral strain and a concussion. He is expected to return at some point in July, but no detailed timeline for his activation has been established.

Tyler Gilbert

RP

Gilbert retired one of three batters faced in Tuesday's extra-innings win over Atlanta and finds himself on the IL a day later. Chris Murphy will take over Gilbert's vacated roster spot.
