Pereira was removed from the White Sox' last game Wednesday's versus the Marlins due to left ankle soreness. It's unclear whether the injury is still lingering or if manager Will Venable simply preferred Tristan Peters in right field for the team's home opener. Pereira has started five games in right field this season, while Peters has made six starts in total (four in center field, two in right field).

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Owen White, who has been claimed off waivers. Bush underwent Tommy John surgery last week and will miss the entire 2025 season.

Prelander Berroa

Berroa had Tommy John surgery last March and is still working his way back into game shape. The right-handed reliever has been throwing off a mound since early February, so he might not be far off from a rehab assignment if all goes well.

Brooks Baldwin

The injury designation the White Sox used was right elbow sprain, suggesting Baldwin is dealing with ligament damage. Even if he doesn't wind up requiring surgery, the utility player might be looking at an extended absence.
