Jordan Leasure

RP

Leasure has been sidelined since late May with a right flexor strain. He was able to resume bullpen sessions in late July, and he is expected to return at some point in August. However, he will almost certainly need a rehab assignment, so he may not be activated until late in the month.

Drew Thorpe

SP

Thorpe was cleared for a rehab assignment shortly after the All-Star break, and his last outing took place Thursday, when he allowed one hit while striking out five batters across four scoreless innings with Double-A Birmingham. He's in the final stages of his recovery from April 2025 Tommy John surgery, and barring any setbacks, Thorpe is on track to rejoin the White Sox in mid-August.

Tyler Gilbert

RP

Gilbert has been cleared to test things out in a game setting after missing the past six-plus weeks with a left shoulder impingement. The lefty will likely require a handful of rehab outings before being returned to the active roster.

Kyle Teel

C

When Teel was placed on the injured list, his timeline to return was unclear. The White Sox have since announced that Teel will be sidelined at least six weeks, or until the beginning of September. He's had a frustrating 2026 season, as he was unable to make his debut until June 22 due to a hamstring injury he suffered during the World Baseball Classic.

Braden Montgomery

RF

The team has yet to provide word whether Montgomery's removal from the lineup was the result of an injury or illness. The rookie may simply be getting a day off, as he's started in every game dating back to July 8 and has gone 1-for-15 with a 1:5 BB:K over his last four contests. Everson Pereira will fill in for Montgomery in right field and will bat eighth.
