It was previously reported that Teel was nearing a rehab assignment, but there is now a clearer timeline. He's expected to return in early May, suggesting he'll appear in several games before being activated. The last remaining part of Teel's recovery is running at full speed.

Jonathan Cannon

Cannon entered the game with the White Sox up 2-0 with runners on first and second, but ended up walking all three batters he faced before leaving due to injury. The right-hander was making his first appearance of the season, and his status will likely receive an update in the near future.

Chris Murphy

RP

With closer Seranthony Dominguez unavailable after throwing 46 pitches over back-to-back games, Murphy got the call with a three-run lead in the ninth inning. He worked around a leadoff walk and ended the contest with a three-pitch strikeout. While Sunday was a step in the right direction, the 27-year-old has struggled through five appearances to open the season, yielding six earned runs over 5.1 innings with a 6:4 K:BB.

Brooks Baldwin

LF

Baldwin was hurt during spring training and eventually diagnosed with a sprained UCL. The utility player elected to have surgery rather than rest and rehab, which has ended his 2026 campaign before it starts. Baldwin is expected to be ready for the start of spring training next year.

Prelander Berroa

RP

The move makes room on the White Sox's 40-man roster for right-hander Osvaldo Bido, who was claimed off waivers Saturday from Atlanta. Berroa continues to recover from Tommy John surgery that he underwent in March of 2025. By being moved to the 60-day IL, the earliest he can make his 2026 regular-season debut is late May.
