Yelich had missed about a month due to a strained left groin before returning to action as the Brewers' designated hitter for Tuesday's 6-4 win and going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. The groin presented no issues for Yelich in his return to the lineup, but the 34-year-old is now being viewed as day-to-day with a new health concern. While the skipper suggested that Yelich's absence from the lineup is in part precautionary, it's worth noting that the 2018 NL MVP has a long history of back problems and underwent a microdiscectomy in August 2024. The Brewers will wait and see how Yelich responds to a day off before determining his next steps.

Akil Baddoo

LF

Baddoo landed on the 60-day injured list before the season with a left quad strain that he suffered during spring training. He'll need ample rehab at-bats to knock the rust off and is not a lock to be added back to the active roster once he's physically ready.

Rob Zastryzny

RP

Zastryzny began the season on the injured list with a shoulder strain before being pulled off a rehab assignment when he suffered an intercostal strain. The lefty reliever has hardly pitched the last two months, so he'll likely need at least a few rehab outings before being considered for activation.

Jared Koenig

RP

It will be his first time throwing from the bump since he went down with a sprained left elbow in early April. Koenig will need a rehab assignment before returning and is not expected back until late May or early June.

Jacob Misiorowski

SP

Misiorowski's quad began to bother him while he was warming up for the eighth inning, and manager Pat Murphy opted not to push things after the 24-year-old had already made it through seven frames for the first time this season. Misiorowski has now thrown 18.1 consecutive scoreless innings to begin the month of May and owns a 29:4 K:BB across his last three starts. Assuming his next start doesn't get pushed back, he's lined up to face the Cubs at Wrigley Field next week.
