Murphy said Friday that Frelick would be activated from the injured list in the near future, and although he still doesn't have a firm return date, it's been narrowed down to sometime between Tuesday and Thursday. The 26-year-old outfielder has spent the past couple of weeks on a rehab assignment at Triple-A, during which he's gone 9-for-32 with two homers, five RBI, seven runs scored and a steal across nine contests.

Brandon Woodruff

Woodruff said in July that he would undergo season-ending capsule repair surgery on his right shoulder, but he first wanted to exhaust all his options before going under the knife. Imaging on his shoulder taken four weeks after he suffered his injury revealed unexpected healing, eliminating the need for the 33-year-old to undergo surgery. The Brewers will put him through a five-week throwing program before reevaluating him, per Hogg, which will keep Woodruff out through the end of the regular season but could enable him to pitch in the postseason if things go well.

JoJo Romero

RP

Romero is slated for a multi-inning bullpen session Tuesday before facing hitters Friday. If things go well during his live BP, Romero will be cleared to begin a rehab assignment. Coming back from an appendectomy, Romero should join the Brewers' bullpen later this month.

Abner Uribe

RP

Uribe just landed on the 15-day injured list this past Friday with a right forearm flexor strain, so it's a good sign that he's already able to throw from a mound. The right-handed reliever is eligible for activation Aug. 26, and he's tracking toward being ready by that time or shortly after.

Joel Kuhnel

RP

Kuhnel fired 13 of his 17 pitches for strikes in the rehab outing, his first appearance at any level since July 2 following his placement on the 15-day injured list due to right rotator cuff tendinopathy. Though Kuhnel pounded the strike zone, batters were able to easily square up on him, as all three hits he allowed went for extra bases (one home run, two doubles). The right-hander will need to show improved results over his next few rehab appearances before rejoining the Milwaukee bullpen.
