Josh Jung
3B
The Rangers were hopeful that Jung would be ready for activation from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Saturday, but that's not going to happen. Schumaker noted that Jung's progress, or lack thereof, is "kind of at a standstill right now." With Corey Seager (back) slated to return from the IL on Friday, Ezequiel Duran will shift over from shortstop to handle third base until Jung is ready.
Jakob Junis
RP
It's unclear when or how Junis was injured, but it will cost him at least the next two weeks of action. Junis has been one of the Rangers' best relievers this season, logging a 2.70 ERA and 30:7 K:BB over 40 frames. His spot on the roster and in the bullpen will be taken by Winston Santos.
Jordan Montgomery
SP
Montgomery is sufficiently stretched out after getting his pitch count up to 75 in his last rehab outing, but the Rangers will have the lefty make one more rehab start to iron out the kinks. Working his way back from March 2025 UCL surgery, Montgomery has turned in a 4.74 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 16:2 K:BB in 19 innings across seven rehab starts thus far.
Jose Corniell
RP
Corniell gave up five earned runs in just one inning out of the bullpen during Monday's game against the White Sox, and he'll now have to remain on the sidelines until at least Aug. 5 due to his latest injury. The severity of his injury remains unknown, though it's worth noting that the 23-year-old righty underwent Tommy John surgery back in 2024. Marco Gonzales was promoted from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.
Cody Bradford
SP
Making the fourth start of his rehab assignment, Bradford spotted 40 of his 56 pitches for strikes and induced 15 swings and misses. The left-hander -- who is working his way back from a June 2025 internal brace surgery -- has permitted just one run between his stops with Round Rock and Double-A Frisco while posting a stellar 16:2 K:BB in 10 innings. While Jordan Montgomery (elbow) appears likely to beat him back from the 60-day injured list to take over a spot in the Texas rotation, Bradford could end up unseating Montgomery for a starting role once he completes his rehab assignment. The 28-year-old southpaw will likely need just one or two more starts in the minors before coming off the shelf.
