The report described the exercise as a "touch and feel bullpen session." If Eovaldi comes out of the session alright, the right-hander is expected to throw a second live BP session Friday in Arizona.

Josh Jung

Jung opened a rehab assignment with the Express and played all nine innings as the designated hitter. Rangers manager Skip Schumaker told Kennedi Landry of MLB.com that there's a plan for Jung's rehab but that could change depending on how quickly he responds to activity. With 17 games left in the regular season and Texas 1.5 games back of a wild-card spot, the Rangers might be better served to activate Jung sooner rather than later.

Jack Leiter

SP

Leiter experienced biceps soreness during a recent rehab outing, which prompted to the Rangers to put a halt on the rehab assignment. After being shut down for a few days, the right-hander his now headed to the team's training facility to resume throwing.

Kyle Higashioka

C

Higashioka began a rehab assignment with the Express, and per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com, the Rangers plan to have him hit only for the time being. When/if he returns to the team, Higashioka will serve as a bench bat.

Cole Winn

RP

Winn hadn't pitched since Tuesday, when he allowed two runs on five hits over 1.1 innings in a relief appearance against the White Sox. The Rangers haven't revealed the severity of Winn's strain, but he won't be eligible for activation until at least Sept. 12 as a result of the transaction. Texas recalled right-hander Ben Peoples from Triple-A Round Rock to replace Winn in the bullpen.
