Declan Cronin
RP
Cronin is slated to miss the entire 2026 campaign after undergoing Tommy John surgery at the end of September, so the Rangers will bring him in on a two-year deal with the hope of having him contribute to the organization in 2027. When healthy, the 28-year-old reliever turned in a 4.91 ERA and 1.64 WHIP across 22 innings at Triple-A in 2025.
Cody Bradford
SP
Bradford pitched in a game for the first time since undergoing an internal brace procedure last June. He allowed a pair of home runs and threw 27 pitches (17 strikes) during the outing. The left-hander is expected to make several starts in the minors before the Rangers make a decision on whether there's a spot for him on the big-league staff.
Cody Freeman
3B
Freeman will remain sidelined for 4-6 weeks before the Rangers reevaluate him, which will almost certainly cause him to miss the entire Cactus League schedule and could force him to begin the regular season on the injured list. The 25-year-old infielder had been in the running to land a spot on the Rangers' bench, but his injury will open the door for other players like Ezequiel Duran, Sam Haggerty and Justin Foscue to pick up reps during spring training games.
Jordan Montgomery
SP
Montgomery has successfully completed four other bullpen sessions so far this spring, and he's slated to throw around 30 pitches during Tuesday's side session. If all goes according to plan, Grant mentions the southpaw will throw one more 30-pitch bullpen, and then potentially progress to two-inning sessions. There is still a long road ahead before Montgomery returns to game action, but it's a positive sign that he's feeling strong at this point in his recovery after undergoing UCL reconstruction surgery last April.
Sebastian Walcott
SS
Walcott could return to hitting within a 5-to-6 month timeline, but it'll likely be longer before he's cleared to take the field. The 19-year-old is Texas' top prospect, and getting him back into game action, even in a limited capacity, would set him up nicely heading into 2027. Walcott spent the 2025 campaign at Double-A Frisco, where he totaled 13 homers, 32 steals and a .255/.355/.386 slash line in 124 contests.
