Chris Martin
RP
Martin -- who turns 40 on Tuesday -- returned from a biceps injury in late May but wasn't sharp in four outings, allowing four runs with a 0:2 K:BB over four innings. He'll be eligible for activation in mid-June, but it's unclear how long he might be sidelined.
Robert Garcia
RP
The Rangers made a number of transactions Monday, and moving Garcia to the 60-day IL opened a spot on the 40-man roster. He landed on the 15-day IL in late April due to left shoulder inflammation, and he's been doing light work in a throwing program since early May. He's not eligible to be reinstated from the IL until late June, but the Rangers will have a better sense of Garcia's recovery timeline once he progresses to throwing bullpen sessions.
Sam Haggerty
LF
Nimmo landed awkwardly when legging out an infield single in the sixth inning. Haggerty entered as a pinch runner and remained in the game to play left field, while Alejandro Osuna moved from left to right field. With Nimmo day-to-day and Wyatt Langford (forearm) on the injured list, Haggerty could grab some starts in the coming days. He's filled a minor role with the Rangers, totaling just 33 plate appearances and batting .161 over 25 games so far this season.
Corey Seager
SS
Seager had been scheduled to take part in an on-field work prior to Sunday's game against the Royals, and assuming he emerges from it no worse for the wear, he'll report to an affiliate within the next few days. Though Seager hasn't required a rehab assignment at any point over the past three seasons during his previous five stints on the injured list, the Rangers are requiring him to play in the minors for the first time since 2023 due to the nature of the injury and what physical tests he still needs to pass, per McFarland. Seager, who has been on the shelf since May 18, will likely play in two or three games with Double-A Frisco beginning Tuesday before the Rangers decide whether to continue his assignment through the weekend or activate him from the 10-day IL.
Wyatt Langford
LF
Langford kicked off a rehab assignment Saturday. He should see time in the outfield in the minors in the coming days and is projected to return from the 10-day injured list when the Rangers' next homestand gets underway Friday against the Guardians, per MLB.com.
Josh Smith
2B
Smith, who originally landed on the injured list due to a strained glute, was away from the team and spent time in a hospital due to a bout of viral meningitis. He did some light workouts and jogging Thursday. The illness was the latest setback for Smith, who sustained left wrist inflammation while rehabbing the glute. Prior to the stay on the IL, Smith had been the primary second baseman, but that may not be the case when he's ready to return. Both Justin Foscue and Ezequiel Duran have made inroads since then.
Cole Winn
RP
Winn entered the ninth inning of a 4-4 game and gave up hits to the first two batters before allowing a run on a fielder's choice. The rest of the damage came after he was removed, as Jalen Beeks surrendered a three-run shot to Oneil Cruz. Winn is part of the Rangers' late-game crew but has recently hit a rough patch; he's allowed three runs in two of his last four outings. After a scoreless 7.2 innings to start the season, Winn has pitched to a 16.20 ERA over 3.1 subsequent frames.
Carter Baumler
RP
Baumler made three appearances while on his rehab assignment but experienced a setback and hasn't pitched since April 28. It's unclear when the right-hander will restart a throwing program.
Cody Bradford
SP
Bradford made one rehab start early in April but was shut down soon after. Now that he's throwing again, the Rangers are pegging his return for late June.
Declan Cronin
RP
Cronin is slated to miss the entire 2026 campaign after undergoing Tommy John surgery at the end of September, so the Rangers will bring him in on a two-year deal with the hope of having him contribute to the organization in 2027. When healthy, the 28-year-old reliever turned in a 4.91 ERA and 1.64 WHIP across 22 innings at Triple-A in 2025.
Nabil Crismatt
SP
It had been previously reported that Crismatt needed elbow surgery, and now it's been revealed that it will be a season-ending UCL repair. Whether he requires a full Tommy John surgery or something less invasive won't be known until the operation. Crismatt had been in Rangers camp on a minor-league contract.
Jordan Montgomery
SP
Montgomery has successfully completed four other bullpen sessions so far this spring, and he's slated to throw around 30 pitches during Tuesday's side session. If all goes according to plan, Grant mentions the southpaw will throw one more 30-pitch bullpen, and then potentially progress to two-inning sessions. There is still a long road ahead before Montgomery returns to game action, but it's a positive sign that he's feeling strong at this point in his recovery after undergoing UCL reconstruction surgery last April.
Sebastian Walcott
SS
Walcott could return to hitting within a 5-to-6 month timeline, but it'll likely be longer before he's cleared to take the field. The 19-year-old is Texas' top prospect, and getting him back into game action, even in a limited capacity, would set him up nicely heading into 2027. Walcott spent the 2025 campaign at Double-A Frisco, where he totaled 13 homers, 32 steals and a .255/.355/.386 slash line in 124 contests.
