Kevin Coleman Jr.
WR
Coleman had previously dealt with an undisclosed injury that caused him to miss some practice time, but the rookie fifth-round pick suited up Saturday and paced the team in targets and receiving yards. The Dolphins rested their starters and got an ugly passing performance out of the backups, as Coleman was the only player on the team to exceed 12 receiving yards in the game. Coleman seems to be running well behind rookie third-round pick Caleb Douglas, as well as the more experienced Malik Washington, Jalen Tolbert and Tutu Atwell. Fellow rookie WR Chris Bell (knee) could also factor into the mix whenever he's cleared for game action.
James Ester
G
Ester is set to stay with the Dolphins after clearing waivers. The 24-year-old will be unable to play this season unless he's waived with an injury settlement.
Ollie Gordon II
RB
Gordon went to the locker room just before halftime, although the nature of his injury is currently unknown. The 22-year-old rushed for eight yards on four carries and caught his only target for an additional 10 yards before leaving the game. Gordon is competing with Jaylen Wright for the top backup role behind De'Von Achane.
Malik Washington
WR
Washington played in the Dolphins' preseason opener against the Commanders on Friday, Aug. 14, when he caught three passes on as many targets for 15 yards. He'll be idle for Saturday's exhibition contest, so Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell and rookie third-rounder Caleb Douglas are all in line for increased work.
Chris Bell
WR
Bell has not played in either of the Dolphins' first two preseason games, but he took a positive step in his recovery program by being activated from the active/non-football injury list Monday. He's in the final stages of his recovery from a torn ACL in his left knee that he underwent surgery for in December, and the rookie third-rounder has an outside chance of being available for the Dolphins' preseason finale against the Falcons on Friday.
