Pierre-Olivier Joseph
D
Joseph was already placed on injured reserve Tuesday, so his recovery timeline doesn't come as a significant shock. With Tyler Myers shipped off to Dallas and Joseph unavailable, Victor Mancini will step into the lineup on the third pairing. Even once cleared to play, Joseph is far from a lock to suit up every night.
Thatcher Demko
G
Demko's move to LTIR was bound to happen after Vancouver announced he would be shut down for the season Jan. 27. The move was made in correspondence to Pierre-Oliver Joseph's need for a standard IR spot, as he's dealing with an undisclosed injury. Demko will continue to rehab his injury after going 8-10-1 with a 2.90 GAA and an .895 save percentage across 20 games this season.
Jonathan Lekkerimaki
RW
The Canucks announced Saturday that Lekkerimaki would require season-ending surgery, but he's expected to be ready to return in time for training camp in September, when he should have an opportunity to compete for an NHL roster spot. Over 13 appearances with Vancouver this year, the 21-year-old recorded two goals, an assist, 10 hits and five blocked shots while averaging 11:41 of ice time.

Derek Forbort
D
In corresponding moves, the Canucks put Victor Mancini (undisclosed) on injured reserve and recalled Tom Willander from AHL Abbotsford. Forbort has already missed the last eight games. He will be eligible to play against Chicago on Nov. 5, but it's unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup.
