The move clears space on the 40-man roster for the addition of Carlos Jorge. Toglia is out for the season after undergoing recent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Spencer Steer

To this point, Steer has been limited to strengthening exercises. It seems the hope would be that Steer could rejoin the club in the final days of the regular season, but there's also been talk of him being shut down. And there's an argument to made for that given where the Reds sit in the standings.

Hunter Greene

The Reds had previously disclosed that Greene would require another operation on his elbow, and he ended up needing a full Tommy John repair. The right-hander's first Tommy John surgery came back in 2019, and he also had a procedure on his elbow earlier this year to remove bone chips. Greene will be out through the end of the 2027 season.

Blake Dunn

CF

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of waiver claim Ron Marinaccio. Dunn underwent season-ending internal brace surgery on his right elbow earlier this week.
