Baty sustained the injury on an RBI single in the first inning, prompting his removal from the game after being briefly evaluated by a trainer. The Mets are off Thursday, and follow-up tests will determine whether Baty will be cleared to play in Friday's series opener against the Yankees.

Cionel Perez

It's the first game action since late July for Perez, who is coming back from a left forearm strain. Perez has been terrific since joining the Mets, posting a 4.21 ERA but an impressive 32:5 K:BB over 25.2 innings. He should be activated in the coming days.

Devin Williams

RP

It will be Williams' first time throwing off the mound since he was diagnosed with a right shoulder strain nearly a month ago. The reliever remains optimistic about returning to pitch before the end of the regular season. Kodai Senga has pitched well since taking over the Mets' closer role, so even if Williams is activated later this month he might not pitch in the ninth inning.

Jorge Polanco

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Chris Devenski. Polanco had previously been ruled out for the season when it was decided earlier this month that he'd have surgery on his left ankle.

Reed Garrett

RP

The transaction frees up a 40-man roster spot for the addition of Bryan Hudson. Garrett underwent UCL reconstruction surgery in October and will miss the entire 2026 season.
