Although McMahon will be in the dugout for the beginning of Tuesday's contest, Boone noted that there's a chance the 31-year-old could be available off the bench. Jose Caballero will get the nod at the hot corner and bat seventh while McMahon sits.

Ali Sanchez

C

After being replaced by Austin Wells in the top of the seventh, Sanchez's x-rays on his right wrist came back negative. Manager Aaron Boone said the catcher will go for a CT scan and is hopeful that this is just a "day to day thing."

Trent Grisham

CF

Boone noted that a decision is still being made as to whether Grisham will accompany the Yankees on their seven-game road trip this week, but he wouldn't be a candidate to play in any of those contests and would merely be taking part in pregame work. In any case, Grisham seems to be coming along as well as the Yankees could have hoped since landing on the injured list June 13, potentially setting the stage for him to return to the lineup around the All-Star break. Since Grisham was deactivated, Spencer Jones and Cody Bellinger have been sharing time in center field.

Max Fried

SP

Fried has been throwing off a mound for about a week and is now asymptomatic after landing on the injured list in mid-May with a bone bruise in his left elbow. He remains without an official timeline and is likely to embark on a rehab assignment before coming off the IL, but a return to the rotation at some point in July remains possible.

Clarke Schmidt

SP

Schmidt is now almost a year out from the internal brace procedure he underwent last July. The veteran hurler began throwing from a mound in early April but has been limited to side sessions so far. If he continues his throwing program and is able to face hitters in late June or early July, Schmidt could feasibly be ready for game action at some point in August.
