Wells will miss the rest of the 2025-26 campaign after undergoing a procedure to repair a tendon avulsion fracture, although he is anticipated to "make a full recovery" ahead of the 2026-27 season. The 22-year-old appeared in 69 games in his sophomore season, starting all of them, finishing with averages of 12.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.1 blocks and 0.9 steals while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from deep across 26.4 minutes of work.

Cam Spencer

G

Spencer will end his campaign with three consecutive absences. Overall, it was a breakout season for the second-year pro, who set career highs essentially across the board. In his 23.8 minutes per game, Spencer averaged 11.1 points, 5.6 assists and 2.5 rebounds.

Scotty Pippen Jr.

G

Pippen was without a return timetable after initially being diagnosed with the injury, which was likely related to the surgery that caused him to miss the beginning of the campaign. The Grizzlies have no incentive to rush him back, so this move isn't surprising. It's unclear what Pippen's offseason will look like, but he should be back to full strength by training camp next season. He'll finish his third campaign in Memphis with averages of 11.4 points, 4.7 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals across 10 appearances (six starts).

Ja Morant

G

Morant won't return this season but is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. The star point guard will finish this season with averages of 19.5 points, 8.1 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 28.5 minutes per game across just 20 regular-season appearances. The Murray State product continues to be plagued with injuries and has appeared in just 79 regular-season games over the past three years. With Morant sidelined the rest of the season, Walter Clayton, Cam Spencer and Javon Small (back) will likely continue seeing increased burn.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

G

The veteran guard is set to return to Memphis after being acquired from Orlando in the Desmond Bane deal last June. Caldwell-Pope missed the Grizzlies' final 29 regular-season games after undergoing surgery on his right pinky finger, finishing the season with averages of 8.4 points, 2.7 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 21.3 minutes per tilt across 51 regular-season appearances (14 starts).
