Walter Clayton Jr.
G
Clayton is battling a knee issue and wasn't available to suit up during the Salt Lake City Summer League. The 23-year-old began the 2025-26 campaign in Utah before being acquired by the Grizzlies ahead of the trade deadline. In 24 regular-season appearances in Memphis, he averaged 9.7 points, 5.7 assists, 2.1 rebounds, 0.3 blocks and 0.8 steals over 25.0 minutes. Clayton is considered day-to-day, and his next opportunity to play will come Monday versus his former club. Although he's already projected to hold a spot in the rotation for the Grizzlies in 2026-27, he won't help his chances of earning more playing time if he misses more games throughout the remainder of Summer League.
Karim Lopez
F
Lopez missed all of the Salt Lake City Summer League, and now he'll begin Las Vegas on the sidelines, although now he's being listed as day-to-day. His next chance to play will come Monday against the Mavericks.
GG Jackson
F
Jackson is coming off a letdown of a 2025-26 campaign, but the Grizzlies are still believers in his long-term upside. Across 55 regular-season contests, he averaged 12.45 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists on 49.6 percent shooting from the field.
Richie Saunders
G
The soon-to-be 25-year-old is one of the older players in this draft, but he's also one of the more NBA-ready guys, with a pure shooting stroke and high basketball IQ. Saunders put in averages of 18.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.6 triples and 1.7 steals per game on 49/38/82 shooting splits during his senior season at BYU, and he could immediately carve out a role on this rebuilding Memphis team.
Jaylen Wells
F
Wells' defensive ability and complementary skill set could help him carve out a role alongside the Grizzlies' established core. However, increased competition for minutes may make consistent opportunities more difficult to secure. In addition to Boozer, the Grizzlies also added forward Karim Lopez in the first round.
Zach Edey
C
The young center has shown encouraging development during his first two seasons and still projects to receive significant frontcourt minutes. However, Memphis now possesses additional depth in the frontcourt, creating some uncertainty regarding lineup combinations. Injuries have limited Edey to 66 regular-season appearances through two years, so his health is a far bigger concern.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
G
The veteran guard is set to return to Memphis after being acquired from Orlando in the Desmond Bane deal last June. Caldwell-Pope missed the Grizzlies' final 29 regular-season games after undergoing surgery on his right pinky finger, finishing the season with averages of 8.4 points, 2.7 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 21.3 minutes per tilt across 51 regular-season appearances (14 starts).
Cam Spencer
G
Spencer will end his campaign with three consecutive absences. Overall, it was a breakout season for the second-year pro, who set career highs essentially across the board. In his 23.8 minutes per game, Spencer averaged 11.1 points, 5.6 assists and 2.5 rebounds.
Scotty Pippen Jr.
G
Pippen was without a return timetable after initially being diagnosed with the injury, which was likely related to the surgery that caused him to miss the beginning of the campaign. The Grizzlies have no incentive to rush him back, so this move isn't surprising. It's unclear what Pippen's offseason will look like, but he should be back to full strength by training camp next season. He'll finish his third campaign in Memphis with averages of 11.4 points, 4.7 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals across 10 appearances (six starts).
Ty Jerome
G
Jerome will end the 2025-26 season having missed 11 games in a row. He didn't make his season debut until Jan. 31 and didn't play more than three consecutive games all year. Still, when he took the floor, he played well. Across his 15 appearances, the guard averaged 19.7 points, 5.7 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 22.6 minutes.
