Jamir Watkins
G
Watkins, a two-way player for the Wizards, suffered the injury during the Summer League. Although Washington has yet to offer a timetable for a return, a typical recovery time for the procedure is approximately 9-to-12 months. That leaves Watkins in serious jeopardy of missing most, if not all, of the 2026-27 season, and it remains to be seen if the team will continue keeping him around on a two-way roster spot while he's injured.
Will Riley
G
Riley made two Las Vegas Summer League appearances before Washington decided to shut him down. The 2025 first-rounder is set to compete with Bilal Coulibaly and Khris Middleton for a key bench role in 2026-27.
Tre Johnson
G
Johnson appeared in just one game for the Wizards this summer, posting 26 points (11-20 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal across 28 minutes in Thursday's win over Utah. AJ Dybantsa and Will Riley have also been shut down for the remainder of Summer League.
AJ Dybantsa
F
Dybantsa was able to make a pair of Las Vegas Summer League appearances before being shut down. The 2026 No. 1 overall pick will now set his sights toward training camp in the fall in preparation ahead of his highly-anticipated rookie campaign in 2026-27.
Alex Sarr
C
The 21-year-old big man is currently recovering from foot surgery but is expected to be ready for training camp after averaging 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 48 regular-season appearances last year. Sarr remains a major part of the franchise's long-term plans, although the additions of established veterans could reduce some offensive responsibilities. His defensive upside should continue to provide substantial fantasy value if he can stay healthy.
