Head coach Brian Kelly mentioned Hilton had "sublexed" his shoulder on two or three separate occasions already this season, meaning that he had suffered partial dislocations, and that it made sense to get surgery done now. The redshirt freshman wideout has had an unfortunate history of injuries early on in his career. His absence will merely test the depth of LSU's wideouts for the remainder of the year. Hilton is expected to be back for the spring.

Garrett Nussmeier

QB

Nussmeier was competing with Jayden Daniels for the starting job during camp, but Daniels was seen as the favorite for the job. Daniels has officially been named the starter, but it's possible that the Tigers turn to Nussmeier at some point if Daniels struggles early on.

Damian Ramos

PK

Ramos has reportedly been playing well in fall camp, and has earned the starting kicker role. He'll be backed up by Nathan Dibert and Ezekeal Mata.
