Malik Nabers
WR
Nabers hasn't been cleared to fully practice with his teammates, but the 2024 first-round pick has been taking part in individual drills at training camp. The star wideout told reporters Thursday that he feels good but doesn't have any "target dates" regarding his return, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com. The Giants will kick off their regular season Sept. 13 on Sunday Night Football against the Cowboys.
Darius Slayton
WR
Slayton's return from offseason core muscle surgery was understandably overshadowed by Malik Nabers' presence on the practice field. With Nabers likely absent or limited for at least a few more weeks, the top candidates for first-team reps at WR are Slayton, Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin. The Giants also have third-round pick Malachi Fields and veterans Odell Beckham and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Cam Skattebo
RB
Skattebo made similar comments a week and a half earlier, telling reporters that he was "perfectly fine" and "ready to go" for training camp. He and Tyrone Tracy both figure to get first-team reps this summer -- with Devin Singletary perhaps mixing in some as well -- but Skattebo remains a clear favorite for the Week 1 starting job. His progress nonetheless needs to be monitored this summer, as he's coming back from a severe injury that included ligament damage around the ankle.
Sam Roberts
DT
Roberts is healthy again after undergoing surgery earlier in the offseason. The 28-year-old signed a one-year contract with the Giants back in March and will now spend the remainder of the offseason competing for a depth spot along the defensive line.
Anfernee Orji
LB
Orji spent the entire 2025 regular season on Tennessee's injured-reserve list after tearing his ACL during a practice, but he's now apparently back in football shape and getting another chance to make an impression. He'll likely be competing for one of the last spots on the Giants' 53-man roster for 2026.
