Christian Kirk

Kirk has been tending to a calf injury since July 26 and hasn't mixed back into drills in the meantime. There seemingly is a chance he kicks off the season on injured reserve, but he could change the tune by returning to practice or suiting up for Thursday's preseason game in Las Vegas. With all of Mike Evans (quad), rookie second-round pick De'Zhaun Stribling (shoulder) and Ricky Pearsall (knee, IR) banged up at the moment, Deebo Samuel, Demarcus Robinson, Jordan Watkins and Jacob Cowing are the top healthy and available wide receivers for the 49ers.

Nick Martin

LB

Martin is once again dealing with an injury, as he had suffered a stinger during the team's preseason opener versus the Titans last week. The 23-year-old is competing for a depth linebacker role with the 49ers.

Jordan James

RB

With Christian McCaffrey tending to unspecified tightness, Isaac Guerendo (pectoral) on the active/PUP list and Patrick Taylor (undisclosed, IR) out for the season, James joined healthy RBs Kaelon Black, Sincere McCormick, Zamir White and Khalil Herbert on the practice field in some capacity Saturday. This marks James' first on-field work since July 28, but it remains to be seen if he'll be available for the 49ers' preseason finale this coming Thursday at Las Vegas.

Deommodore Lenoir

CB

Lenoir likely picked up the injury during Thursday's preseason win over the Chargers. Once healthy, the 26-year-old is expected to serve as one of San Francisco's starting cornerbacks during the upcoming campaign.

Khalil Dinkins

TE

Dinkins is back with the 49ers, nearly one month after being waived by the team in late July with a non-football injury designation. The Penn State product gives the Niners additional depth at tight end in the absences of George Kittle (Achilles) and Tanner McLachlan (undisclosed).
