Justin Danforth

Danforth has been evaluated and is termed day-to-day, so he still might be an option for Saturday's game in Washington. The 33-year-old has no points, two PIM, three hits and two blocks in six outings this campaign. Danforth's exit from the lineup coincides with Jason Zucker's expected season debut after Zucker missed Buffalo's opening nine games due to sports hernia surgery.

Alex Lyon

According to the team, Lyon was originally expected to be in the crease for Tuesday's road clash with Montreal before suffering his setback. Even once given the all-clear, there may not be enough games to go around to make Lyon more than a low-end fantasy target, especially as long as Buffalo continues rostering three goalies.

Matt Grzelcyk

Buffalo placed Grzelcyk on injured reserve Tuesday. He hasn't played since Opening Night against Columbus on Oct. 1. With Rasmus Dahlin (upper body) and Grzelcyk unavailable, the Sabres recalled Dennis Gilbert from AHL Rochester to play against Montreal on Tuesday.

Conor Timmins

After getting hurt in Saturday's preseason finale against Pittsburgh, Timmins is on injured reserve for the beginning of the 2026-27 campaign. He registered eight assists, 44 shots on goal, 81 blocked shots and 29 hits in 39 regular-season appearances with Buffalo in 2025-26.
