Sean Sullivan

SP

Sullivan opened the season on Double-A Altoona's injured list while he recovered from an elbow injury that cropped up in spring training, but he was cleared to make his 2025 Eastern League debut in early May after completing a six-appearance rehab assignment between Single-A Bradenton and High-A Greensboro. After turning in a 1.15 WHIP, 0.70 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB in 15.2 innings over seven appearances with Altoona, the 24-year-old earned the move up to Triple-A.

Dominic Fletcher

RF

Fletcher saw action in 12 games in the majors with the White Sox in 2025, but after joining the Pirates on a minor-league pact over the winter, he was viewed as a longshot to break camp with the big club. He'll likely be in line for steady at-bats at Indianapolis but will presumably need an injury or two to hit the Pittsburgh outfield before he gets another chance in the big leagues.

Anthony Solometo

SP

Solometo missed much of the 2025 season with shoulder problems, and they're evidently still nagging at him early on in the 2026 season. The lefty will get another opinion from Dr. Keith Meister before a decision is made on how best to proceed. He yielded four runs with a 0:2 K:BB over two innings in his first two appearances for Altoona before getting hurt.

Mike Clevinger

RP

Clevinger will be immobilized for several weeks before resuming workouts. The veteran right-hander has been pitching out of the bullpen at Triple-A Indianapolis, allowing five runs with a 9:5 K:BB across 8.2 innings. He won't be an option for the Pirates until sometime in June, at the earliest.

Jared Triolo

SS

Triolo has already been doing all other baseball activities and is set to take a big step next week when he runs the bases. The utility infielder is less than two weeks removed from going down with a patellar tendon injury in his right knee but looks to be making swift progress. A timetable for his return could become clearer after he runs the bases next week.
