Gabe Jacas
LB
Jacas remained away from the team and unsigned throughout mandatory minicamp. Head coach Mike Vrabel declined to disclose the nature of Jacas' current injury, but he noted that the rookie second-rounder is recovering from surgery. A hamstring injury held Jacas out of the 2026 NFL Combine in February and Illinois' Pro Day in March, but he worked out at his personal pro day in April. A source tells Reiss that Jacas is currently recovering from a knee procedure and that the Patriots are likely seeking injury-related financial protection within the terms of his contract.
Christian Gonzalez
CB
Gonzalez is back with the team after skipping most of the voluntary offseason program while holding out for a contract extension. The Patriots picked up the 23-year-old's fifth-year option in April, but Gonzalez continues to negotiate a long-term extension with the team.
Kayshon Boutte
WR
The 2023 sixth-rounder skipped the Patriots' voluntary OTAs and has been the subject of trade speculation in the wake of the team's additions of A.J. Brown in a trade and Romeo Doubs via free agency. However, Boutte participated fully in Tuesday's session and has indicated that he's amenable to sticking around with New England, "whether that's at X (receiver), Z (receiver), F (slot receiver)... whatever I got to do, that's best for me." With Brown and Doubs sitting firmly atop the WR depth chart, Boutte, Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas and Kyle Williams remain the primary candidates for snaps in three-receiver sets, per Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site.
DeMario Douglas
WR
The same applies to Mack Hollins, Kayshon Boutte and Kyle Williams, which gives Douglas a challenging path to steady volume this coming season. The 2023 sixth-round is coming off a 2025 campaign in which he caught a career-low 31 passes (on 46 targets) for 447 yards and three TDs in 17 regular-season contests, and it may take injuries within his team's WR corps in order for Douglas to provide reliable fantasy production in 2026.
TreVeyon Henderson
RB
Though Henderson and Stevenson are in line to continue to share the rushing load in 2026, both players should still yield fantasy utility while working in an offense helmed by ascending signal caller Drake Maye. In his first year as a pro in 2025, Henderson recorded 180 carries for 911 yards and nine TDs to go along with 35 catches for 221 yards and a score in 17 regular-season contests. Meanwhile, Stevenson carried 130 times for 603 yards and seven TDs, while adding 32 catches for 345 and a pair of receiving scores. While the looming time-share remains an issue in terms of Henderson's weekly fantasy floor, the 2025 second-rounder's playmaking ability makes him the upside play in New England's backfield, which also includes Jam Miller, Terrell Jennings, Lan Larison and Myles Montgomery, who are collectively in line to compete for depth slotting behind the top duo.
