Maluach put together an encouraging Las Vegas Summer League run, putting up at least 15 points in four appearances while registering three double-doubles as well. The 2025 first-rounder is next set to battle with Oso Ighodaro for the top backup role at center behind Mark Williams during training camp.

Williams averaged a double-double in his final season in Charlotte. While his production dropped in his first year with the Suns in 2025-26, he still averaged 11.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.9 steals across 23.6 minutes. Without question, the 24-year-old is a talented player, though injuries have kept him off the floor more often than not. It's unknown if Williams will remain the Suns' starting center in 2026-27. However, even though Oso Ighodaro, Khaman Maluach and Rasheer Fleming have shown flashes of promise, they still aren't as skilled as Williams when healthy.

Jordan Goodwin

Goodwin was claimed off waivers by Phoenix last July and made the regular-season roster before delivering a career-best year. Across 70 regular-season appearances (10 starts), the 27-year-old guard averaged 8.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 37.0 percent from deep in 22.5 minutes per game. Goodwin missed the team's final three postseason games against Oklahoma City due to a left calf strain, though he'll likely be good to go by the time training camp rolls around. He receives added security with this new contract, which includes a player option for the third year.
