Grayson Rodriguez
SP
It's the first time Rodriguez has faced hitters since he landed on the 15-day injured list prior to Opening Day due to right shoulder inflammation. As long as Rodriguez bounces back well from Monday's session, he could be cleared for a rehab assignment before long. The right-hander would need multiple rehab starts before he's ready to join the Angels' rotation.
Travis d'Arnaud
C
D'Arnaud was struck in his left foot by a 94.6 mph sinker from relief pitcher Kyle Hart in the bottom of the seventh frame, and he was unable to continue to play as a result. The catcher was replaced at first base by outfielder Bryce Teodosio, and more information on his status will likely come in the near future.
Kirby Yates
RP
Yates made his first rehab appearance Friday night and said the outing went as planned, despite allowing one earned run on one hit and one walk. He also noted he'll need a few more rehab appearances before returning. Yates projects to work in a high-leverage role once fully healthy.
Ben Joyce
RP
It's the first time Joyce has thrown against live hitters since he underwent surgery in July 2025 to repair his labrum. The Angels still don't have a firm timeline in place for the right-hander's return, but he will likely require a lengthy rehab assignment before being cleared to return to Los Angeles' bullpen.
Alek Manoah
SP
Manoah has been cleared to use his full repertoire in his throwing sessions and could receive the green light to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment once he stacks up a few more live BPs. The 28-year-old is working his way back from a right middle finger contusion, which he developed after his fingernail fell off during a March 17 start in the Cactus League. While the Angels have an opening for a fifth starter after Ryan Johnson (infection) struggled in his lone outing this season before landing on the injured list, Manoah will likely need to perform well during his rehab assignment in order to get a look in the big-league rotation once he's activated.
Ryan Johnson
SP
Johnson tossed just two pitches during Monday's outing before he was removed due to his hamstring issue. He's making his way back from a viral infection that caused him to be placed on the 15-day IL on April 6, and the Angels should have an update on Johnson's injury status once the 23-year-old right-hander undergoes more tests.
Robert Stephenson
RP
Stephenson was placed on the 60-day injured list prior to Opening Day due to right elbow inflammation, an issue that cropped up during spring training. He had initially been eased into workouts during camp after he had experienced symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome over the winter. While Stephenson was able to avoid another UCL reconstruction surgery after previously requiring the procedure in May 2024, the 33-year-old right-hander is nonetheless on track to miss his second full season since signing a three-year, $33 million deal with the Angels following the 2023 campaign. The contract includes a $2.5 million club option for 2027, so the Angels could still look to bring him back next season if they're satisfied with where he stands in the rehab process.
Anthony Rendon
3B
Rendon agreed to a buyout with the Angels in December and won't play this season. However, he will remain on the team's official roster and presumably spend the entire year on the 60-day IL.
