Twelve teams, six per league. The two best division winners in each league, seeds 1 and 2, wait in the Division Series. Seed 3 hosts seed 6 and seed 4 hosts seed 5 in the best-of-three Wild Card Series. Seed 1 meets the 4/5 winner and seed 2 the 3/6 winner, best of five; the League Championship Series and the World Series are best of seven. There is no reseeding.
