Expert Top Pick of the Day: Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New York Jets
Top Pick of the Day
The Jaguars and Jets open the action in the NFL this week on Thursday Night Football from MetLife Stadium. Jacksonville is going for its third straight win and is currently 7-7 and in second place in the AFC South Division behind the Tennessee Titans, who they beat 36-22 on the road two weeks ago. They’re 4-2 in their previous six games since snapping a five-game losing streak.
The Jets have a 7-7 record and are last in the AFC East standings. They have lost three straight and five of their last seven games after starting the season 5-2. The Jets’ offense has stagnated since quarterback Mike White went down with fractured ribs.
Zach Wilson was benched in favor of White more than a month ago because of a poor attitude after a 10-3 defeat by New England. However, he threw for 317 yards against the Lions on Sunday, which was the second-highest total of his career.

Jaguars Goes For Third Straight Win
Two of the Jaguars’ last three wins have been against current division leaders. However, last week’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys was their most dramatic of the season, as the Jags took the game to overtime.
Jacksonville won it on a Raywhawn Jenkins interception after he snagged a tipped Dak Prescott pass just before it hit the turf and returned it 52 yards for a touchdown.
Trevor Lawrence had a solid performance against the Cowboys, going 27-42 for 318 yards and four touchdowns. He’s thrown for 3,520 yards and 24 touchdowns with seven interceptions overall.
Travis Etienne Jr. is the top rusher for the Jags with 917 yards and four scores and averages 5.0 yards per carry. Christian Kirk is their leading receiver, with 73 receptions for 966 yards and seven touchdowns.
Jets’ Offense Looks For Spark
Although Zach Wilson had a decent total of passing yards against Detroit, the interception he threw early in the third period was the difference in the game, as it led directly to a Lions field goal.
However, it would be huge for New York if Wilson could repeat what he did last season when he ran for 91 yards against the Jaguars.
Wilson leads Jets quarterbacks with 1,596 yards and six touchdown passes. Breece Hall is the leading rusher with 463 yards and averages 5.8 yards per carry.
Garrett Wilson is the number-one receiver for New York with 966 yards and has reached the end zone four times while averaging 14.4 yards per reception.

Godds Pick or Prediction of the Game
New York has averaged just 17 points in the last three games. The Jaguars need to continue to be aggressive on offense like they were two weeks ago in their blowout of the Titans on the road.
Lawrence has been brilliant at times in his recent performances and can lead his team to another win if he can continue his hot streak.
- Godds Pick/Prediction: The Jaguars win, and the total goes over.
